Marcus Aurelius
Marcus Aurelius ruled the Roman Empire at its height while practicing Stoicism as a daily discipline. He was not a system-builder but a working philosopher who turned ideas into a way of living amid war, plague, and the burdens of power. His private journal, never meant for publication, became one of the most widely read works of practical philosophy.
